Full Time
Liverpool 0-2 Arsenal

Liverpool's performance against Manchester City last week seems to have flattered to deceive as they looked a hugely different team here. The crisp passing and attacking threat of a week ago were absent instead the play was disjoined and the attack was toothless. Arsenal, who's own start to the season had been less than great showed that they can score and can attack as they bagged their first goals of the season whilst keeping a 3rd successive clean sheet. Despite the result Arsene Wenger will not be best pleased with Oliver Giroud who had numerous chances to open his account for the club, however the points are what matter.

Now midway through stoppage time, Liverpool search for a concellation goal but little comes of the corner.

Yellow Card

Martin Skrtel gets the first booking of the second half just minutes after the restart.

And we're now off for the second half.

Half Time
Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal

For much of the half of the half Liverpool appeared to be the most likely to score however it was Arsenal who broke not only the deadlock but also their own Premier League duck as Lukas Podolski opened Arsenal's scoring or the season finishing a lovely counter after a Liverpool mistake.
Whilst Liverpool had more chances, by far, than the visitors it was the visitors who had the best chance to bag a second before half time with Oliver Giroud striking a great chance wide.

Brendon Rodgers will need to look at changing the attack of his team who look rather toothless going forward, Luis Suarez simply isn't going to win games up front on his own. Arsene Wenger however will be hoping that Arsenal can bag a second and secure their first win of the season.

Arsenal Chance
Arsenal break quickly and a reverse pass to Oliver Giroud appears to set Arsenal up to double their lead but the Frenchman's shot is just awful and wide. A miss that Arsenal may come to regret.

Penalty Appeal
Raheem Sterling is brought down in the penalty and a loud appeal for the Liverpool faithful follows, the referee however just plays on.

Liverpool Corner
Liverpool get the first corner of the match and whilst it's a threatening ball no one can knock it towards goal.

Arsenal half chance
Santi Cazorla has a shot but it's easily saved by Pepe Reina

Liverpool Chance
A nice move by Liverpool lets in Fabio Borini who blasts over the bar. So far Liverpool have looked the better team but Arsenal appear to be looking to hit on the break.

Yellow Card and Free Kick
Per Mertesacker picks up the first booking of the game after just 6 minutes. Luis Suarez's free kick is hit well over the goal.

Shot!

Fabio Borini takes the first notable shot of the match hitting it from outside of the penalty area as it roles wide of the Arsenal goal.
